I came across Ps. 86:11-13 today. “Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord, my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.” NIV

The idea of a divided heart got me thinking. How much of my heart is divided? If I used math to figure it out would my heart be fully sold out to following God or merely a percentage somewhere around 85%? God’s love is evidenced to me in the person of Jesus Christ. The psalmist says, “great is your love toward me”. If that’s the case then it calls for 100% devotion. Lord help me to praise you with all my heart today.

A. Job Mission
Provide leadership, recruitment and training for effective ministry to children from birth through fifth grade

B. Qualifications
1. A growing believer who is a member in good standing of West Bridge Church
2. Experience working with children’s ministry
3. An understanding of Christian education including an appreciation for the total church ministry
4. The ability to evangelize, disciple and teach children
5. The ability to develop, lead and grow children’s ministries
6. The ability to recruit, equip and retain children’s teachers & workers
7. The ability to administrate and delegate
8.  A love for God, children and teammates
9.  Humility evidenced in being teachable

C. Responsibilities
LEAD
-Build ministry teams
-Develop annual goals for children’s ministry consistent with our mission & values
-Promote children’s ministry within the church and community
-Train & empower volunteers to do the work of the ministry

MANAGE
-Budget and expenditures
-Curriculum
-Staff recruitment needs
-Oversee the Children’s worker application & approval process
-Implement children’s ministry guidelines

SHEPHERD
-Observe, support and encourage volunteers
-Provide training opportunities for staff

COMMUNICATE
-Communicate policy and plans to church staff, volunteer staff & parents
-Report to pastors

HOURS: 16-20 per week in office. Possibly more should the ministry needs demand it in the future. Applicant should expect to be present for most Children’s services.

Specific areas of Children’s Director ministry oversight:
-Nursery
-Preschool
-JAM City
-AWANA
-CARE kids program
-Children’s Musical (typically once a year)
-VBS/Summer programming
